What's New?
Congratulations to Dr. Philip Scribano
Philip V. Scribano, DO, MSCE, is Medical Director of the Center for Child and Family
Advocacy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Chief of the Division of Child and Family
Advocacy, Program Director of the child abuse pediatrics fellowship, and an Associate
Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He is
a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Sections on Child Abuse and
Neglect and Adoption and Foster Care, Chair of the Ohio American Academy of
Pediatrics Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect, member and Co-Chair of the Child
Abuse Pediatrics Program Directors Committee of the Ray E. Helfer Society, and he
serves on the board of the Academy on Violence and Abuse. Certified in Pediatrics and
Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Dr. Scribano recently received his Certification in Child
Abuse Pediatrics, one of only 187 physicians in the nation to earn this distinction.
Providing care and treatment for child sexual abuse survivors remains the Child
Advocacy Center of Fairfield County’s top priority. In the first 5 months of 2010 we will
see more children in our forensic medical clinic than we saw in all of 2009. We are
grateful to the Center for Child and Family Advocacy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital,
under Phil’s leadership, for their support of our efforts to serve these children and
expand services into rural areas of the state.
